We at Project Story Untold aim to employ a multi-faceted approach to tackling Domestic Violence (DV)—spanning interviews, workshops, and healing spaces.
We plan to facilitate a series of anonymized interviews with DV survivors, hoping to amass a better understanding of the circumstances surrounding their experience, their survival, and the ripple effects of DV. In doing so, we will cover themes of THING, THING, and THING—serving as a foundation upon which we can distill our learnings into designing empowerment programs and strategies to implement them.
We also endeavour to work towards providing them the requisite tools to re-integrate into society with their dignity, autonomy, and respect by co-conducting a series of training workshops where women can learn the field of make-up artistry to work at salons. Our hope is that we equip the women with the sufficient knowledge to gain requisite certification for kickstarting their careers and financial independence.
Further, we—in coordination with expert practitioners—plan to construct a safe space for healing, sharing, and solidarity. These spaces will function as workshops where trust is reforged, platforming DV survivors in the hopes of furthering discourse and bolstering recovery through a variety of tailored creative, therapeutic activities.
